RB Web Design (UK) offers a number of services related to website creation:

  Countdown Timer - a simple countdown to a specific date (can be accurate to the second, minute, hour, day, month or year).
  
  Search Facility - this allows users to search your website for certain keywords. The user will then be presented with a list of results with links to the relevant pages.
  
  Picture of the Day - allows you to show a different image on your website every day of the month. Your visitors will see a different picture each day they visit.
  There are numerous such features, so if you have a specific requirement, just ask!

WEBSITE HOSTING

If you do not already have a web host or server for your new website, an appropriate hosting package will be set up for you, based on the functionality you require on your website.

Two sample schemes are detailed below, which would probably be suitable for most websites.

The options shown below will vary from time to time, depending on the hosting company selected by RB Web Design (UK).

The Hosting Cost is payable annually, in advance. If you wish to stop using your website and cancel the hosting package, at least 6 weeks written notice must be given (prior to the yearly expiry date) and no refund can be given for any unused period.

ADVICE ABOUT DOMAIN NAMES

What is a Domain Name?

This is a name given to your website (usually starting with www...) that allows it to be found on the "world wide web" (internet). No two websites can use the same domain name. However, because part of the domain name ends with a common extension (.com, .co.uk, .net, .me.uk, etc.), two similar websites can exist - for example, www.JoeBloggs.com could be a completely different site to www.JoeBloggs.net.

Website domain names can be created based on any name or phrase, but it is usually best to find a domain name that is unique to your business, or perhaps use your own name (e.g. www.SmithsBuilders.com or www.JoanAllen.me.uk).

Sometimes, it is worth having part of your domain name include a keyword (something that is entered into search engines by people looking for a website). We can suggest suitable domain names if you can not decide on one.

Purchasing a Domain Name

To ensure that each domain name remains unique, there are several registration companies that issue domain names. An annual fee is payed to a registrar (such as Nominet - www.nominet.org.uk) and this then entitles you to use the domain name for your website. Sometimes the website domain name you want has already been taken by someone else - if this is the case, we can suggest alternative names for you.

You can request a domain name when you place your order and this will be taken care of for you. You would still be the registered 'owner' of the domain, but it would be administered by RB Web Design (UK), and you would pay an annual fee with your website renewal each year.

Send an email with the domain name you are interested in and it can be checked for availability.

DOMAIN NAME COSTS

The domain costs (for a 2 year period) are:

gTLD Domains - £24
these include:
.com, .org, .net (exlcuding .tv, .info, .mobi)

UK Domains - £12
these include:
.co.uk, .org.uk, .ltd.uk, .plc.uk, .me.uk

WEB SUPPORT PACKAGES

You may wish to set up a Maintenance Contract to cover any updates to your website (including text, graphics, database, or general rework).

There are four options to choose from, and you may elect to either pay monthly in advance or annually in advance (the latter saving 5% compared to a monthly contract):-

If extra maintenance work is required (in addition to your chosen Support Package), the standard rate (£20 per 1/2 hour) will apply (and will become payable as soon as these changes have been completed).
